Awkward moment for our newest staff member, Neko >.> He doesn't really know how to handle halter horses, much less put them in the correct stance, but good thing Ismail knows how to do it Lack of correct handler-horse positions ftw. Or maybe he's just a shortie.

"This is my first show...?" Neko asked, pointing to the show schedule Ashlyn had given him after his first week. In it was two shows booked with the black Arabian stallion, Ismail. Halter and Endurance. Sure, he liked watching the horse parade around his paddock, only to piss off the Thoroughbred that was beside him, but he never really expected to be allowed near the stud. Almost everyone was older than him, and much more experienced.

His boss gave him a wink and threw him a show halter. "I'll test you out, give you a go with him. He's still a little new, and you seem to take a liking to him, so why not?" Brushing past him, she grabbed hold of the door handle. "Get busy, new kid. I'm counting on you."

The next few weeks Neko spent was time with the stud, trying to get a feel for the horse. A proud stallion, Arabian at that, knew exactly how to handle an insecure young man like Nee. Taking every opportunity possible, he shoved, nipped, bucked, and nearly dragged his handler through the courtyard. There was no other way describing it; the stud was a bully to his new companion. His sessions of being naughty were tedious, but Nee didn't give up. He would make the other staff members accept him one way or the other; this wasn't just about acceptance from the stud.

As the show date neared to a few days away, the kid found himself wearing down. Ismail was a persistent little bastard, not showing signs of stopping his mean ways. Ashlyn wasn't letting Neko stop, though, and soon enough it was time for them to load up the horses and head to Rosenhill Farms.

New sights, smells, places, everything seemed to revv up Ismail further. Nee struggled to contain the horse as they entered the ring, the black horse wanting to go his seperate way from his handler. As the other stallions took their places among the ring, Ismail's nose quivered and he suddenly became quiet. Raising the lead, plus his halter whip, Neko tried to look professional as he made Ismail shift into the Arabian stance. Brown eyes peered back at Nee as Judges examined each and every horse extensively, patient and waiting.

The horse was a bully, but Nee'd be damned if that horse didn't understand the nature of humans.

Neko's first appearance and first showwww <3

He's our youngest member, JUST passing his birthday of 18 years (December 30th). He's got a soft spot for the spirited Arabs, and will most likely possibly be a jockey as well. He likes spitfire horses, but needs more confidence. Nee doesn't realize that hotbloods like to walk all over people like him x'D
